Description
There are many reasons to recommend Porter-Cable's well-constructed 2-1/2-inch, 15-gauge angle finish nailer. For starters, there's an easy-to-adjust depth-of-drive wheel that lets you modify the gun's countersink to the task (switching from pine, say, to oak). There's also a quick-release nosepiece, which makes clearing out jams a snap, and a conveniently angled aluminum magazine with a reinforced steel guide rail. (Some users have complained of unintentional double-firing with the standard trigger; if this is a problem [ours worked great, no misfires of any kind], you can always request a restrictive-fire trigger--which requires releasing the trigger between firings--by calling Porter-Cable at 800-321-9443. Porter-Cable will send you one free of charge.) We used this nailer to trim out windows and install a roomful of crown molding; the angled magazine, of course, makes this gun much easier to maneuver than straight-magazine models in these sorts of applications. The DA250AK weighs more than some of its competitors, but it's also significantly less expensive. --Jon Groebner
